This is Farmer John and he needs our help!

Good ol’ Farmer John has worked his land to help produce some of the finest quality of foods but he is sad.  He needs our help to make the sun shine once again upon him.  He is worried about of ecosystems and tries he best to understand why when you go to the market, you buy something that is flown in half way around the world causing greenhouse gasses to be emitted along each route it is taken.  Why not just pick some fresh fruit or vegetables that are grown right in the good ol’ USA or better yet, right in your own state.  His fruits and vegetables are just as fresh and healthy and you are helping him and our planet out.  So next time you reach for produce, think about where it’s coming from.  Don’t know, ask the produce manager and keep it within our own backyards.

Julia “Butterfly” Hill Didn’t Live Atop a Tree for Nothing.

While Julia was staking her claim, employees were aiding in the destruction.  10,000 sheets of paper per year per employee are used from contracts, emails, memos, documents, the list goes on and one.  Recycle it!  Don’t print it in the first place!  View it and electronically file it!  Whatever it takes cut back on the paper usage, our trees are suffering enough, we need to make Julia proud and support our environment.  Stand tall just like our trees and put your foot down, do your part to help reduce the amount of waste we currently have.

Trashy the Trash Can Serves His Purposes But……………………

Dispose of items properly.  Did you know that something as small as an ink cartridge can take 450 years to decompose?  I had no idea how many times I have tossed that little cartridge into the trash and never gave it a second thought about how long it will remain on the planet.  Look for a recycling place to drop your cartridges off next time you run out of ink.

IT"S HEREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.  Daylight Savings Time has come around again.  Spring forward into the next season and check off your list the items that can save you energy and your life.  Check those batteries in the smoke alarm, change those filters on your furnace.  It's almost time to check the AC to make sure it's running efficient.  You can soon start using your furnance less, turn it down, put on a sweater, open those blinds and let mother nature warm your home.  Your electric/gas company will be mad, but you will be happy when you see your bill :)

Energy Zappers are Lurking Every Where

Those pesky cords are all around and they are sucking energy all the time.  Unplug your chargers, disconnect those video games or put everything on a power strip and turn off the power strip. Hey you didn’t unplug it – so the clocks don’t have to be reset.  Unplug those rechargables in the garage – are you using that power drill now… nope – unplug it. Save energy, reduce pollution, save your family money.  You’ll start to see the difference add up, and then treat them all to dinner with your savings.

It’s been COLD COLD COLD outside, but we still need to think about our environment.  So let’s Minimize Idling .

We all know that idling waste gas which is at a premium right now, but excessive idling , more than 30 seconds also puts strain on the cars cylinders, spark plugs, exhaust and engine which all work the best IN MOTION – not IN NEUTRAL.  So if you need to warm it up…. DRIVE IT

If every family in the United States replaced one roll of conventional toilet paper with a roll of 100 percent recycled material, we'd save 423,900 trees in a year. That's a lot of trees.  Get with your family and friends and plant a tree today.
